Type L Clips

C Clips are specially designed panel joining clips used to connect two adjacent molded FRP grating panels. They help minimize differential deflection between panels, improve load distribution, and create a more stable and secure walking surface.

Type L Clips are an alternative to Type M Clips for securing FRP grating panels to supporting structures. Designed for light-duty applications, they fasten a single load bar of the grating to the support frame, providing a secure and economical fastening solution. Type L Clips are suitable for molded and pultruded FRP gratings and are widely used in walkways, platforms, access areas, and other installations where moderate hold-down performance is required.

Assembly: A standard Type L Clip assembly consists of a stainless steel L Clip, a hex bolt, a washer, and a nut. For applications requiring direct attachment to the supporting structure, the clip can also be supplied with a self-drilling screw as an alternative fastening option.

Installation: Position the Type L Clip so that it engages a single load bar of the FRP grating and sits securely against the supporting structure. For installation onto a steel support frame, drill a hole through the support frame, insert the bolt through the clip and the frame, then tighten the nut and washer from underneath until the grating panel is firmly secured. For direct fixing to concrete or other solid substrates, drill a pilot hole through the clip into the supporting surface and fasten using a suitable screw and anchor or a self-drilling fastener. Install the required number of Type L Clips according to the panel size and loading conditions to ensure reliable panel retention.
