Type M Clips

Type M Clips, also known as Saddle Clips, are designed to securely fasten FRP grating panels to supporting structures using two adjacent load bars. They provide excellent hold-down performance by preventing panel movement caused by foot traffic, vibration, wind uplift, or dynamic loading. Type M Clips are compatible with all standard molded FRP gratings, including square mesh, rectangular mesh, mini mesh, and micro mesh, as well as pultruded FRP gratings.

Assembly: A standard Type M Clip assembly consists of a stainless steel saddle clip, a hex bolt, a washer, and a nut. For applications requiring direct attachment to the supporting structure, the assembly can also be supplied with a self-drilling screw as an alternative fastening option.

Installation: Insert the Type M Clip through the open mesh of the FRP grating so that it securely engages two adjacent load bars, with the saddle section positioned beneath the grating panel. For installation onto a steel support frame, drill a hole through the support frame, insert the bolt through the clip and the frame, then tighten the nut and washer from underneath until the grating panel is firmly secured. For direct fixing to concrete or other solid substrates, drill a pilot hole through the clip into the supporting surface and fasten using a suitable screw and anchor or a self-drilling fastener. For optimum panel stability, it is recommended to install Type M Clips at each panel corner and add additional clips where required by panel size or loading conditions.
